Governor Appoints EdVoice CEO Rae Belisle to State Board of Education

Raneene Belisle, 53, of Mt. Aukum, has been appointed to the State Board of Education. She has served as the president and chief executive officer for EdVoice since 2008. From 2007 to 2008, Belisle was a special assistant to the Director of Finance and, from 2004 to 2007, she worked as general counsel for the Sacramento County Office of Education. Belisle was the executive director of the California State Board of Education from 2003 to 2004, was the associate general counsel and governmental relations team leader for the Los Angeles Unified School District from 2002 to 2003 and was chief counsel for the California State Board of Education from 1997 to 2002. In 1997, she was a senior consultant for the California State Assembly Committee on Higher Education. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem.
