Young Teacher

Effective educators are essential for ensuring that every low-income child in California has access to a quality education. Our state must increase the number of people choosing to become teachers and school counselors, improve teacher and counselor preparation programs, prioritize high-needs schools for teacher placement, provide high-quality professional learning opportunities, and retain effective teachers and counselors. By creating a more diverse and effective teaching workforce and better-prepared educators, we can improve outcomes for all students, especially those from low-income families who are often the most underserved.
