EARLY EDUCATION

It is imperative that we provide quality experiences, supports, and resources- grounded in positive and caring relationships- for our youngest children, ages 2 to 4. This will ensure that they reach critical developmental, behavioral, physical, cognitive, emotional, and social milestones.

EdVoice supports the state's efforts to expand state-funded transitional kindergarten (TK) to all 4-year-olds, with a focus on prioritizing high-poverty communities for this expansion. We believe that providing children with a high-quality TK experience will give them a head start in becoming kindergarten-ready and better prepared for their ongoing learning journey.

EdVoice also advocates for the expansion of state-funded preschools and federally-funded Head Start programs to ensure that all 2-3 year-olds living in poverty have access to effective programs.
